What You Need To Know About Ocean Pacific
For over 22 years Ocean Pacific has specialized in restoring fire, smoke, soot, mold and water damage on residential, commercial and industrial projects
Years of Experience
Satisfaction
Industrial and commercial restoration projects are our speciality.
We remove smoke, tar, and char from brick, concrete, walls, floors, ceilings, wood studs, plywood, i-beams and more.
We are able to use various types of blast media to accomplish the desired result. From commercial to industrial to residential projects, we make sure we use the correct media and grit to get the job done.
Sand & Garnet Abrasive
Sandblasting is used to clean and prepare surfaces for new coatings applications. Some uses for Sandblasting include rust removal, coatings removal, etching and profiling of surfaces for painting, etc. Sandblasting involves the use of a pressurized blast pot, blast hose, and specialized nozzles to propel abrasive media at high velocity onto the surface to be cleaned. This process thoroughly removes the material without harming the substrate. We use different sized and shaped blast media based on the required cleaning application. We carefully choose our blast media based on their different densities, abrasives, and sizes such as sand, garnet, aluminum, glass bead, crushed recycled glass, etc.
A multi-purpose media that is used on larger industrial projects such as mills, boilers and turbines, it is also used for light to medium fire/smoke damage on aluminium Q-decking, wilson trusses, steel beams and columns, drywall, wood, brick, concrete cleaning and more.
We offer Sandblasting in the following applications:
- Plant and machinery cleaning and blasting
- Stone and brickwork cleaning
- Structural steel cleaning
- Etching and profiling
The benefits of sand and garnet blasting are:
- Least expensive option
- Most options for blasting media (sand, walnut, glass, garnet, steel shot etc.)
- Quickest removal rate
- Ability to achieve specific blast profiles for coating adhesion

Dry Ice & Soda Blasting
Dry ice blasting requires the use of recycled carbon dioxide (CO2) to do non-abrasive cleaning without leaving a mess. Using dry ice blasting for cleaning ensures that nothing gets wet or damaged in the cleaning process, which is ideal for cleaning sensitive areas such as electrical components.
Dry ice blasting involves propelling pellets at extremely high speeds. The actual dry ice pellets are quite soft, and much less dense than other media used in blast-cleaning (i.e. sand or plastic pellets). Upon impact, the pellet sublimates almost immediately, transferring minimal kinetic energy to the surface on impact. The sublimation process absorbs a large volume of heat from the surface, producing shear stresses due to thermal shock. This improves cleaning as the top layer of dirt or contaminant is expected to transfer more heat than the underlying substrate and flake off more easily.
The efficiency and effectiveness of this process depends on the thermal conductivity of the substrate and contaminant. The rapid change in state from solid to gas also causes microscopic shock waves, which also assists in removing the contaminants.
We offer Sandblasting in the following applications:
Used for a wide variety of metal blasting such as brass, bronze, copper aluminium.
The benefits of dry ice or soda blasting are:
- It deodorizes and cleans and can be used on windows, removing graffiti or stains without etching the glass.
- Reduced cleaning time
- Reduced labor requirements
- No secondary waste
- A chemical-free process
- Remove odor from fire damage
- An environmentally responsible method of cleaning
